In addition to treating shoulder, elbow, and hand injuries, they help individuals recover the ability to perform daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating, following an injury or illness.

- Blood flow restriction training
- Chronic/persistent pain management
- Education on adaptive equipment and activity modifications to maximize independence
- Evaluation and instruction in assistive devices to improve independence in dressing, feeding, bathing, and homemaking
- Fabrication and fitting of hand and arm splints
- Facilitation techniques to improve body control and coordination
- Fine and gross motor control training
- Lymphedema therapy
- Manual therapy including dry needling, joint mobilization, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping and other techniques to relieve pain and improve mobility
- Modalities including heat, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, and ultrasound
