Prairie Ridge Health's Emergency Services staff is here for you and your family 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

24-hour physician coverage with emergency board-certified physicians and ACLS and TNCC (Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Trauma Nurse Certification) certified nurses, working together as a specially trained team to provide you with the best possible care. For non-emergency care needs, Prairie Ridge Health offers 24/7 Urgent Care. 

Prairie Ridge Health's Urgent Care is located within the Emergency Department and is available 24 hours a day. Urgent Care Services are for minor, non-life threatening illnesses and injuries that require attention but could be addressed in your physician's office. Urgent Care is not meant to replace the relationship you have with your primary physician but is available for you when needed. No referral is needed for use of our Urgent Care Services, however, it is recommended you have a clear understanding of your insurance coverage before utilizing Urgent Care.

Our Emergency Department and Urgent Care Services accepts most major insurances.

Our Emergency Department staff works closely with area ambulance and EMS services from Beaver Dam to Sun Prairie, Marshall to Randolph, Rio to Reeseville, and other local communities as well as Med-Flight services in Madison. 

Examples of Emergency Care:
  • Abdominal pain with extensive workup
  • Cardiac monitoring
  • Chest pain
  • Choking
  • CT Scan needed
  • Deep cuts or severe burns
  • Dislocation or fracture
  • Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath requiring oxygen or nebulizer treatment
  • IV fluid treatment for any illness
  • IV medications
  • Loss of consciousness
  • MRI needed
  • Multiple labs needed – 3 or more labs
  • Poisoning
  • Seizures/convulsions
  • Severe bleeding
  • Severe fractures
  • Suicide attempt
  • Suspect stroke
  • Staples/sutures needed
  • Transfer for further care
  • Ultrasound 
Examples of Urgent Care
  • Minor bumps, bruises and injuries (back pain, cuts scrapes, sprains, skin rashes)
  • Minor illnesses (colds, flu, ear pain, sore throat)
